Opuntia x Walk In Beauty™ “Watermelon Man”

Walk in Beauty™ is a series of cold-hardy Prickly Pears with a wide array of flower colors. Famed Colorado plantsman Kelly Grummons has been developing these hybrids for years in his Denver gardens, especially for cold hardiness, drought tolerance, and beauty.

Some of these varieties are nearly spineless, but all will have some glochids. The growth habit is low and spreading, with mature sizes around 6-8” tall by 3-4’ wide. Plants will do best in a well-drained cactus mix if in containers and will do quite well in our native soil too. Be careful not to overwater, and ensure plants have good drainage.
