Verbena 'Prairie'

Glandularia bipinnatifida, also known as Dakota mock vervain, prairie verbena, and Moradilla, is a flowering plant belonging to the verbena family (Verbenaceae). This plant species is native to North America and is found in the United States, extending south to Nicaragua. It is commonly found in the Great Plains and the Blackland Prairies of the Southeast in the United States, while elsewhere in North America, it is occasionally found as a non-persisting waif. Its natural habitat is in open grassy areas, including prairies. It can be found in both high-quality, naturally disturbed communities and regions.

Glandularia bipinnatifida is a herbaceous or semi-woody perennial that produces pink or purple flowers primarily in the spring, but it can bloom anytime throughout the growing season. Its leaves are finely dissected into 1-4 mm broad segments. It can be distinguished from the similar-looking Glandularia pulchella by its long flower bracts and broader leaf segments.
